I'm up extra early this morning to see the kid off
to school. He has to go in early because he's going
camping with one of his classes and, they need the
time to get organized and pack up the bus.
The child has NO sense. He'll purposely do things
he knows are dumb or will cause him grief in the
long run just because it's the opposite of what
I've said.
This morning I reminded him,ONCE, to bring his
jacket. I could see him forgetting it in the rush of
the morning and knew once he got to the campsite,
he'd want it. It's about five degrees colder out that
way(not to mention alongside a windy lake) and
as it is,it was zero here this morning. Oh my good
lord you would have thought I'd just asked him to
wear a bib and sit in a highchair in front of his
friends! "Stop treating me like a toddler" Whine
whine whine! "I have too much to carry" Grumble
grumble grumble. So he would rather freeze his ass
off and be uncomfortable than take his jacket at my
suggestion. "whatever"is what I said. "don't take it,
I don't give a crap"More whining,more bitching,more
complaining, until I finally said "Ok,I forbid you to take
the jacket" lol "if you take it,you are grounded!!" Guess
who took the jacket? Unfricking real! This is the same
child who thinks I should let him move out. YEAH,I
CAN SEE THAT WORKING OUT SPLENDIDLY!

Our dryer died on us a while back and rather than
fork out the money for a new one,we decided to
hang dry everything til Fall. I hang dry most of our
stuff anyhow,so this isn't a big deal. Well it's been
so cold lately STILL,that our neighbors have had to
keep using their woodstove. Now all our clothes
smell like smoke! I don't mind the smell but I have to
wonder what people must think when we encounter
them out and about. Probably nothing in this redneck
town,heh.

Have you noticed how light it is at night? It doesn't
get dark here-like black night dark- until midnight
and then it starts to get light again by 5am. But that's
nothing yet! As we get closer to Solstice, we won't ever
really get dark. We enter into this neat stage of perpetual
twilight. Cool huh? Surprising too,as we're not that far
North.

It's the start of my weekend as my man comes home
today. This job is great for that. We'll be celebrating the
kid's birthday this weekend and I hope to steal my hubby
away for a good dinner out, just the two of us.

SO,I've noticed some folks visiting my blog from my old
stomping grounds. Burnaby,Coquitlam,Maple Ridge.
I know one person-Hi Jen!-but am curious as to the
identity of the others who visit me from those areas.
Introduce yourselves,I'd love to get to know you!

you had me howling at your little rendition of your sons actions. Kids! They always have to take the hard road, don't they!?
Just when I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel with my preschoolers....I read about the troubles that lie ahead. And I want to look away...deny it...but it is like a trainwreck and I just have to know what happened. Thanks for the vision into my future! LOL.
I grew up in Coquitlam!
Ahhh teens.
Have a fun weekend!
The kid sounds like my brother. "Why are you showering" "Because I'm going to mow the lawn." "Won't you have to shower after that?" "Yeah, but I'm going outside so I have to shower." What?!
That's exactly it Rach!
LOL K,right now it's BAD but then there are times when it's kinda fun
so don't worry too much!
Have you been to Coquitlam lately?
It's SO different! I hardly recognize the place anymore.
lol Caro. You said it!
Hi Girl of Approval,it's nice to meet you!
Hee Hee,yep! Your brother's behavior sounds familar to me!
A 16 y/o son. Good gawd....been there.
Lael, you will know fuck all till he's 20. He will think you are the most ignorant woman alive. I barely made that period alive. Well, same for him!
