I can't think of a snazzy title.

It's a mixed up day, weather wise. To the
south-west I see nothing but clouds. To the
north-east the sun is poking through a bit.
I wonder which one will win? Part of me
hopes for the sun,I need to dry laundry but
the lazy part of me hope for the clouds. I
don't feel like changing out of my sweats,ha!

School is finally out!
We don't have any major plans with the kids
for the holidays. I know we're going to Bella
Coola for a night and we'll probably do a trip
to Barkerville. Then of course there will be
drives, picnics and days at the lake! I love
picnics and days at the lake...

The girlie has a job. She's to watch over our
neighbor's dog while he's out with tourists
exploring the countryside. He's gone for nine
days at a time and,Jig will be going in a few
times a day to check on his pup. Of course,
she's actually going to check on the dog,NINE
MILLION times a day but hey,it keeps her
busy and happy!

Ewwww, speaking of the Girlie. We have a
weird situation here. One of our neighbors
has a teen brother. He's sixteen. He doesn't
live here but visits every once in awhile Some
times Jig plays with his young nephew, along
with the other kids and when this this teen is
here, he joins in.

The other day after playing,Jig came home
for dinner, then went out to play with her little
girlfriends in the woods behind our house.
They are playing happily when the teen
approaches them. He says in an accusatory
tone" I thought you had to go in for dinner?!"
She thinks this is ODD so she iggnores him
and the girls move away from him, closer to
our house. He follows them! Pretending to be
interested in rocks and other things, seemingly
iggnoring them. The girls continue to play.
Jig is sitting on a big pipe(don't ask) and he
wanders over to her and says "Oh you like
sitting on big pipes?" in a suggestive voice. I
am shitting you NOT! She stares at him in
horror as he continues"Mind if I join you here?"
Well my sweet SMART girlie say"Yes!I do mind!"
and motions to her friends to follow her down
into our yard. She came in to tell me what had
happened but didn't tell me about the big pipe
comment until later. Which is probably a good
thing,as a murder rap is hard to shake this late
in life. heh. She said he made her feel icky and
that she just couldn't believe he'd actually said
that, until later. ANYway,I went out there to see
where he was but he'd already taken off back for
his own home. So now,I have the lovely task of
telling his brother and sister in law that he was
entirely innapropriate with an eleven year old girl.
Gee,can't wait for that conversation.

I am SO darn proud of my daughter! She trusted
her instincts right away and wasn't afraid to use
her voice and her power against someone much
older than her.Wanna know what first set her off?
He was smoking. Bwaahaaha,I LOVE that!

In the end I told her that unfortunately this would
not be the last time some creep treated her like that
and as she got older she'd be dealing with gross men/
boys more and more. I told her there were a lot of
good men/boys on this earth but that people who acted
like that, were not them. I think this is a good time to
start introducing talks and teachings about being her
true womanly self. Do any of you have any advice on the
subject? Any good books you've read? What do you wish
you'd known? What would you say to an eleven year old
girl?

Well look at that! The sun has come out. Better get
at it. Happy Tuesday!

with shit like that, its bettar that the cops deliver the msg, thats what theyre there for. run it by them, if they think its nothing, then do it yerself, no harm no foul, if they do think its something, then yer not only helping yer kid, but the other kids in his travels.

who knows?? he may have done this or worse before.

I would speak to the sister and bil, then the teen himself... I would then go directly to the RCMP and tell them exactly what was said, and how. They may just go to speak with him.

He's 16,Jig is 11....ANY 16 y/o knows that what he said and in what context was said is inappropriate. That shit KNOWS it's wrong, and unless he is called to task, it will only continue. Maybe a grab at a private place comes next.

Grrrrrr!!!!!!!!

I can't think of any advice. It sounds like you are doing a great job with Jig. I think you handled it perfectly.

I hope someone hits that creep with a big pipe.

Ugh. Poor Girlie. I think talking to the boy's guardians first is a good idea, then move onto something more serious if it doesn't stop. I think if someone had told me what exactly boys were "doing when they were gross." That it's harrassment and against the law, that if it continues to happen, that more will be done. I think that's the message I never heard. It was too much of a "Boys will be boys attitude" when I was growing up. But it sounds like she already had a good head on her shoulders and a mom who understands.
