Jig has just started Karate.
Its so cute to watch her because
she's so tall and thin and when
she executes the actions she looks
elegant,as opposed to threatening.
I actually think she has NO CLUE
that she's learning a martial art
and that these moves can be used
as self defense. I should probably
have a chat with her about that,ha!

Yesterday,I was lifting weights and
for some odd reason found myself
in the power stance. Soooo,I tried
a punch I'd seen taught to the kids...
HOLY CRAP! It was like I'd unleashed
a monster or something,like I had
a dragon in my centre! I was over
come with this feeling of...power
and control..and excitement!
I was seriously startled by the feeling.
It was so funny and cool,I've never
felt that before. All from one little
punch.

My girlfriend and I are going to take
up kick boxing in January but I think
I'm also going to try Karate. I don't
want to waste all that energy:)

Oddly Good Recipe

I made this the other night and it was
reeeeally,really good!

Beef and Apple Pasta

1 lb ground beef -you could also use a veggie
subsitute.
3 apples, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 (28 ounce) cans diced tomatoes, undrained
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 dashes pepper
1 pinch sugar
12 ounces whole wheat pasta-I had egg noodles
on hand.

Directions
Cook pasta according to package directions.
While pasta cooks, crumble beef into frying
pan and brown with onions and garlic.
When pasta is done, rinse with cold water to
stop the cooking and set aside.
Drain fat from the pan of ground beef.
Place contents of cans of tomatoes into pan,
along with apples and spices.
Allow to simmer for about 20 minutes, or
until everything becomes saucy and the apple
pieces become tender.
Mix in pasta and serve!

Our snow has arrived! It looks very
pretty out there but irks me nonetheless.
I was hoping against hope that we'd not get
any this year. HA! I'm such a dreamer.

On Thursday,a body was found in the
park. It was really crappy but seeing death
always makes me remember that *I* am
lucky to be alive,so to that end,it served a
purpose. Turns out the gent's death was of
natural causes..when its your time,it's just
your time! Yikes..

I've made Black Bottomed Banana Bars for
lunch in the park today. Hopefully,they're
a nice treat for our lunch guests!
We've had some problems with the other
people who invited themselves to our party.
The other week one of their people was
extremely rude and condesending to one
of our guests. We cannot let crap like that
happen! The group has been spoken too
but..I don't think this union is going to
work out. It's too bad because they were
bringing hot drinks and sandwiches..but
I think we can do some fundraising and
get our own hot drink dispenser and I
can certainly make sandwiches every
week,so it's not a real big issue,aside
from the mistreatment of one of our
guests,obviously. I'm purposely not getting
into that though,as it sends me into
RANTLAND!
I'm trying to keep calm this morning
before I have to see these people again;p

I got to go out for coffee with my girlfriend
over the weekend! We've got great plans
in the works. One is a trip to the States for
some shopping in the Spring,woohoo!
The other is to start a kickboxing class.
That's going to be awesome! Before parking
our butts in a coffeeshop for hours on end,
we went to a local giftshop where we
discovered these simply gorgeous purses..
we didn't buy them(I mean,come ON Christmas
IS coming)but of course we both wanted them
badly! The next morning,I went to the shop
deciding to just splurge and get them for us
for Christmas but they were BOTH gone! So
either that bugger had the same idea and beat
me to it,or there are two bitches out there with
OUR hot purses,lol.

OH! If you're thinking of watching The Curious
Case of Benjamin Button..DON'T! We tortured
ourselves last night with it..my god what a huge
piece of crap! First off,it's like the longest movie
ever. Dur called it the In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida of
movies! Second,the story doesn't really go any
where. You're sitting there waiting and waiting
and waiting for something to happen and IT
NEVER DOES!
I thought for sure,it'd be interesting and original...
NOPE! You can literally predict whats going to
happen next,the entire way along. I didn't have a
connection with any of the characters,and the
whole old lady on her deathbed telling her story
crap, has really got to stop. I wanted to fucking
smother her with a pillow to put us both out of
our misery! BAD MOVIE!

Better run! The letters are starting to go slanty
on me, I think my brain is going haywire again;)

I totally fucking suck at this whole

BLOG thing! In my defence though...I am
actually busy and doing stuff,not just being
lazy! (Ha! I forgot the i in doing,so it said
DONG,heheheh,dong)
OK,so you can see I haven't really changed
all THAT much but my life has surely changed
for the better. Hanging with my homeschooling
gang;p
It's taken me about two months to incorporate
exercise into my life again in a way that fits
nicely. I'm sure,blogging will be the next thing
I get back!

Over the weekend,the family and I went to see
Kiss with Buckcherry. BOTH were awesome!
Our seats were perfect,in my favourite section
(109) at GM Place. We were surrounded by
normal people and were up at the top,so we had
nobody behind us! It was so funny,the people
beside us,smuggled green apples into the show.
Bwaaahaahaahaa! What a couple of dorks! But yes,
they were better than the pot smokers and drunks,
that's for sure!

get his hug but he did get let in;)

Favourite Skanky Woman from that night-Cougar
type woman,wearing a short-like barely covered
her muff-black mini skirt, matching black tube top-
that barely covered her boobs- super high heels,at
least 40lbs overweight with her gross obvious
former home to many children stomach,painted
white to allow for KISS to be written on it in black.
AWESOME!
There were lots of Gene and Paul inpersonators,lots
of odd attempts at face makeup,lots of crazy hair and
strange behavior,it was good times!
I love the freaky people at concerts,LOVE THEM!

Next on my list of concerts..Hmmm,Bon Jovi for
sure. Journey..Blue Rodeo..Foo Fighters...I'd go
to Nickleback too..ANYway,I think I have a music
addiction!

Can you believe we're spirally closer and closer
to Christmas? I haven't had any time to think
about it and now all of a sudden,it's right here!
Although,as Durell always says"It's not like it
sneaks up on you,you've known about it for a
whole year!" True that..true that..
Alrighty then,I'm off to make lunch-raw veggies,
whole grain crackers,bean dip-and then I have
more schoolwork to do with the kid! Ciao!

Over-run

I got a phone call at 10:38 last night from the
boychild.
Kid-"Mum,I'm at the bottom of the road and
an animal just walked across.I can't tell if its
a cougar or a deer. It's hiding in the bushes"
Me-"Whaaa??? You can't tell the difference
between a cougar and a deer!?"
Kid-"It's DARK! and the thing was kinda
slinking!
Me-" Want me to come out and watch you
walk up?"
Kid-"Thats what I was thinking"

So I grab my ever trusty hockey stick and
after checking over my shoulder into the
yard for lurking wild animals(I was more
concerned about bears,considering I've
been reading a book on them)I head out onto
the road. I don't see anything so I start tapping
the hockey stick on the road(I'm sure the neighbors
LOVE me!) hoping to flush out whatever it is.
Soon enough out pops..a deer! It's now trapped
between the child and I,lol. Lovely! We've found the
deer here to be pretty gentle but still..a wild animal
is a wild animal! It does a little panic dance,then
dashes off into the hillside and the kid walks up
without incident.
I thought it was an amusing way to end the day!
The cougars must not be doing their job because
we are absolutely over-run with deer. This fellow
came to visit me this morning.

That sure is a handsome face! Of course they don't

help the tick population..heh,I should call Mr.

Conservation officer on these guys. They,not the

cougars are the real scurge..but don't get me

started on THAT!

The boychild is sick with the flu...He's sleeping

right now and I'm keeping my eye on him. I am

washing my hands nine hundred trillion times

and wiping down every surface I can think of with

bleach! Hopefully,this is just a mild case..I'm going

to have to go out and get supplies,plus I'm out

of catfood..AGAIN,Gggrrr.

ANyway,think of us while you're walking around

Time is just flying by.
I guess that's what happens when you
start circling the drain!
Ok,fine. I'm not exactly close to death-
that I know of anyway-but I have noticed
the older I get,the faster time seems to
go. I'm liking it! It gets me closer to
Christmas. I am already in the planning
stages for the holiday season,woohoo!

The other day we had some new visitors..

Halloween has come and gone.
It was pretty calm and laid back except for
the Haunted House we went through.
That was AWESOME! The house and yard were
decorated beautifully,and they must have had
at least 12 people hiding in their yard in various
forms of scary dress,just waiting to scare the
shit out of us. What a hoot!
My child has already eaten all of her loot,I suppose
I should be horrified by that but instead I find I'm
happy! Less crap to tempt me with. It's out of the
house and gone;)

Having him put under and shaved
was the best thing we ever did. He
came back nicer for one(I'm guessing
the experience was a wee bit traumatic
for him and he realized that may be his
family were not so bad after all,heh)
AND the grooming is way nicer now
without the 9billion mats and tangles.


Miss Spider is spayed and home recovering.
She was indeed pregnant but they took care
of that for us. She seems way happier now.
The surgery didn't affect her at all and she's
jumping around my house like a normal
kitten,even though we're supposed to be
keeping her quiet and still. Ha,yeah sure.
I guess we could lock her up but then
we'd have to listen to that meow. I'm not
sure my ears can take any more!

I'm not sure you can see it in the photo
but her whiskers are variegated,brown and
cream. They look so odd!

Today I am taking a break from our social
life. I have GOT to get some proper schooling
done. We've been doing stuff but I think we
can do better so today is devoted to working
really,really hard. I've also got to get my
house and yard organized. We're no longer
the nicest trailer on the block,heh.
